Michigan Police Save Little Girl As Mother Is Attempting to Drown Her

On June 24, 2023, an Albion public safety officer and Calhoun County deputy rescued a 2-year-old child from her own mother, with seconds to spare.

The officers kicked in the door to find a 35-year-old mother holding her daughter underwater in a bathtub.

Police pulled the unconscious little girl from the tub and found a stab wound to the chest and neck.

The stab wound didn't appear to be very deep or life threatening, but care was provided to the wounds, according to police.

The Officer's stated they believed the mother and child as well as a 4-year-old had ingested some sort of cleaning fluid.

The two injured kids and the mother were taken to the hospital in stable condition, and further investigation into the incident is ongoing.
