This video demonstrates the unlocking of four hdd's on boot using the "encrypt" hook. Because Arch is one step up from BLFS or LFS, this video does not show a Desktop Environment. It does show a successful boot to the terminal command line. Next up is the gui. I've always been partial to XFCE, so that is next.

the pacstrap command used here is:
pacstrap -K /mnt base base-devel mc htop gpm dhclient netctl net-tools ethtool bind ntp udev mdadm util-linux linux iputils linux-hardened linux-firmware nano mtools dosfstools fuse2 bind-tools tk whois inetutils ifuse grub openssh man-db

...theoretically one could add xorg, xfce, lightdm, and the rest of the gui to the pacstrap command. I didn't because of one thing, troubleshooting. the more you throw in here the harder it is to isolate problematic issues.

probably the biggest headache in any install is grub. installing it via pacstrap seems to just work.
