Canada 5K Race, Time-Compressed - Burlington ON 2023

Running distances at an easy pace has been, for two years, an essential part of how I keep my AFIB in remission. Training in zone two is low strain on the heart but lets you do the needed volume to promote improved health with a low risk of injury.

This race was difficult, very humid, hot enough my phone shut off, and pretty bad air quality due to the forest fire smoke. It’s the first time I had to stop during a race to use my asthma medication, which is why it seems as though I pass some of the same people twice.
