A special initiative is helping to make sure that underrepresented filmmakers have a chance to shine.

The Black Creators Edition from TELUS STORYHIVE is highlighting the wonderful talent that is featured right here in Lethbridge.

Sammy Golom created the film, Out of Frame, which showcases black cultures and lived experiences of people who have escaped war and made their way to Lethbridge.

Staff with TELUS STORYHIVE told us this new film is vital in representing the lives of those who have come to Canada.

A total of $20,000 was awarded in production funding, one-on-one mentorship, and personalized training in the making of the film.
