Russian forces attacked the village of Kruhliakivka in Kharkiv Oblast, killing two civilians and injuring emergency personnel. The US has authorised its initial shipment of Abrams tanks to Ukraine. Though training for Ukrainians on these tanks started in May, the upcoming delivery will consist of six to eight M1A1 models, an older version. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky clarified that Ukraine has no intentions of battling on Russian soil. Additionally, with consistent financial support from Western allies, Ukraine's foreign currency reserves reached a historic $41.7 billion in early August.
