B-2 Bomber flyovers and being escorted down the road by Blackhawk helicopters, plus more!

This was an amazing/interesting day for sure, very different from the usual fast paced airshow scene I am used to. We have been looking forward to heading out to Smoky Hill ANG for a while now. This show was a little different from the usual demonstration/open house that they have. We had made it halfway to Kansas when we received the notice that quite a few of the aircraft that were scheduled to be there had to cancel. For a tiny fraction of a second we thought about turning around but of course we could not do that. We had to know and see for ourselves what we had only seen in videos. So we made our way to Smoky Hill. After making our way down long gravel roads, stopping to make sure we were heading the right way, we saw it, or I should say them. Out in front of us two UH-60 Blackhawks flying fast and low. The day turned out to be fun. I enjoyed the demonstrations of boots on the ground and of course the main attraction for me was watching the B2 Bomber making multiple passes. I have footage of her on the ground (Tinker airshow 2023) but had not seen her fly. Even my camera had trouble with this plane. So sleek and stealthy lol. Overall I would say it was worth the six hour drive to see our military men, women and aircraft at work. I am so proud of our military members. We ended the day with Blackhawks on each side of the road as we left in our vehicle. I like to think we were getting a military escort like we were someone special lol. I can definitely say we will be back for the next show they put on. Thank you to Smoky Hill Air National Guard for a fantastic day!
