Background:

I originally watched this Project DIVA 2nd edit on NND back in 2011. I was still a young beginning editor and this edit opened my eyes to new methods and techniques of manipulating camera and motion. To this day I admire it as a major influential factor in my own development and I want to extend a huge "thank you" to its creator, the master editor りろ.

I wanted to pay homage to Lilo (りろ) and her original edit by creating a converted version in Project DIVA F 2nd, keeping close to the original version with some minor differences. I then would invoke the more powerful features of PDF2nd by creating improved dynamic expressions and lip sync. Little did I know how much work this would all turn out to be...

There is no built-in edit transfer function that can be done from the original Project DIVA series of games to the F series. The editing software of each are not compatible with each other. Nor was there any hacking to the edit files involved. This new edit had to be re-created from the ground up and totally from scratch. And because of the incompatibilities between the two editing programs, I couldn't just simply duplicate the placements verbatim the way they were in the original version. I had to get a bit creative in making the new version mimic the original using different techniques than the original. To help me, I referenced the original edit using the PSP as well as a visual playback capture to duplicate it as close as possible. This proved to be a daunting task, much more than I had planned. But the extra attention to detail seems to have paid off. And the obvious differences between the two versions are deliberate.

I also have the honor of n1tr0t0m's assistance once more. I asked him if he would be willing to re-create the original Extreme+ gameplay. He went far beyond my expectations, not only did he duplicate all 3 difficulties of the original gameplay (Hard, Extreme, Extreme+), he has also created his own versions. So a huge thank you to him for all his efforts and hard work!

Mysterious words in song:

For those of you wondering what the words at the beginning of the song are saying (and repeated again during the song), they are:

"We don't have enough data to call it alcohol abuse..."
"We have no way of knowing if these are the only two incidents that have ever occurred in the history of the astronaut corps or if they are the tip of a very large iceberg."

This had to do with an investigation back in 2007 of a couple incidents in NASA where astronauts were allowed to fly drunk...

How this relates to the song, I have no clue...
