Judge assigned to Trump’s Jan. 6 trial granted increased security detail

The Washington D.C. federal judge overseeing former President Donald Trump’s upcoming criminal trial involving his alleged efforts to overturn the 2020 election and his role in the January 6 Capitol riot has been assigned additional security inside the courthouse. The first hearing with Judge Tanya Chutkan is scheduled for August 28.
