According to a study published in the medical journal Pediatrics in late July, around one in six toddlers have not completed their multidose vaccinations. Data collected by the CDC of 16,365 U.S. children between 19 to 35 months old found 17% of toddlers fell one to three doses short of completing the seven required vaccinations. Researchers attributed the decline in vaccinations to family relocation across state lines, lack of transportation, insurance issues, and parental hesitancy. The study also noted that families with four or more children are less likely to complete the child’s vaccinations.
