The Pacific Sea Nettle is a large and highly mobile jellyfish that cruises the depths until it comes into contact with its prey. Its long, trailing tentacles swiftly deliver a powerful sting that paralyzes its food. It draws the animal to its mouth to ingest it. But the web of life in the ocean is a complex one and despite being armed with such a highly developed weapon, the jellyfish is often preyed upon by birds and large fish.
