Governor Oleh Kiper of Ukraine's Odesa region reported that a building at the Chinese consulate was damaged in a Russian missile and drone attack on Thursday. The Russian military, an ally of China, had been launching aerial assaults on the Ukrainian port cities of Odesa and Mykolaiv for three consecutive nights, seemingly in response to the destruction of the Crimean bridge. Kiper declared that "the strikes have caused significant material damage to civil infrastructure and property." He further added, “We can’t allow such criminal acts. We are doing our best to restore the situation and will take all necessary measures to protect our citizens."
