Their ultimate goal is not only to feed on humanity's energy but to convince people to surrender their body to them. This is commonly called possession or spiritual attachment.

Once an entity from the abyss has taken a hold of a human being they will get them to thin the veil between the moon realm and the earth and create portals that release them from the Abyss.
