An Animal Control Officer was on scene assisting with a disabled motorist, when Dayton Plumb, 24 of Port Orange, rear ended another vehicle in backed up traffic. Dayton then fled on foot from his vehicle and was apprehended nearby.
Two individuals were transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Dayton Plumb was arrested for leaving the scene of a crash involving injury, driving with a suspended driver's license, resisting an officer without violence and violation of probation (which was set to expire at the end of the day). Dayton was booked into the Volusia County Branch Jail with no bond.
