Chapter 40 The Servant’s Lord

This verse sets the tone for the remainder of the book of Isaiah

The first half of Isaiah was judgment

The remainder is one of restoration

Comfort X2 emphasizes God’s intensions

Adonai will be revealed as the savior of Hispeople

The world would be amazed to see:

The return of God’s people to Israel

The salvation of the coming Messiah

The glory surrounding the Messiah’s Millennial reign

All this will happen because it was proclaimed by
God Himself
