How to Clean the Outside of Your Air Conditioner

Throughout the summer, it is a good idea to wash off any debris that may collect on the outside of your home's AC unit. This will help the unit run more efficiently, reduce load on the fan of the unit, and help cool your house better! The best way to clean it, is to completely de-energize the unit via the breaker or the fuses and take the top guard off and spray it gently from the inside out. This was just a quick cleaning to demonstrate how much stuff can really accumulate on these units. If you don't have a lot of time or feel comfortable flipping a breaker or pulling fuses, this is still a great way to clean the unit. Remember, spray gently with water at a downward angle.
