Should We Replace Standardized Tests like the SAT with Aptitude Tests?

Standardized tests aren't working. A better solution could be aptitude tests! Unlike standardized tests like the SAT that grade everyone on the same material, an aptitude test provides personal results to help students move into special schools that actually work for them. Tests like the SAT spit out numbers by which kids are graded, and that number determines admission for that child into positions of higher learning. Since a high SAT is the essential focus of the K-12 Public School system, all the classrooms are designed to propel students to as high a number as possible.

A better solution is small, technical educational buildings and programs designed around student's actual gifts. Technical schools of math, science, kinesthetics, the trades, language, art, music, history, etc., could perhaps better prepare students for real careers in fields in which they are gifted. Attempting to force all the beautiful and diverse human beings in a certain age range into a singular number is not only insulting, it's painful. Round pegs should go into round holes, and square pegs should go in square holes.
