Your House Rules
It’s time to write your own unbreakable House Rules. Here’s an example below.
A project with me is a two-way street. It is your responsibility to sweep your side of it. You’re running a business, and if your mind is in 100 places at once, that’s fine – but if it means you aren’t paying bills on time then I will not chase you. It will just take longer to get your final work product, and you accept that.
Clear, direct, constructive feedback is the fastest route to an end result you love.
I strive to be kind, courteous and professional. Appropriate manners are required – rudeness is prohibited. Don’t act like an amateur.
No lateness to meetings. If you need something done faster, or a change in scope, let me know – before we get started.
I commit to honesty & directness. Our job is to improve, and it’s best done with hard truth from a second set of eyes.
If I can add value, I will speak up and give advice based on my experience & what I’ve seen that works well. You’re always free to take my advice to heart, or ignore me completely.
My rates are neither the cheapest, nor the most expensive - but I ensure that the value my clients receive as a result of working with me, far exceeds what they have paid.
One cook in the kitchen please: Your team’s comments must pass through a single point of contact on your side.
Perfection takes time. Please be patient.
If you don’t love your end result please let me know ASAP. I will deliver one that you do.
I am in the business of exceeding your expectations. If I don’t, please call me out on it.
The client is always right except when they are wrong.
Relationships are important, and family time is sacred. Bear that in mind before sending late-night messages.
