In this episode......
Bobbie Jo falls falls hard for the "beatnik" from New York - played incidentally by Dennis Hopper, apparently a poet and a writer.
Or actually she falls for the idea of what he represents to her small town views.
But the rest of the family are not so easily swayed, and set out to show her the reality of the man and his pretentiousness.
Kate gets increasingly worried at how Bobbie Jo seems smitten ever more so by Alan's boorish ways, but understands - as she felt the same way for a similar type in her younger days.
So she comes up with a plan to let Bobbie Jo see her wonderful poet in a different light.........

Great episode - and almost surreal seeing Dennis Hopper in the show.
