He stood in the gap and paid the price … to process the trauma he started writing this raw but beautiful poetry out of a place of profound pain, loss, and suffering, a cry of anguish, yes, but infused with a hope that can only come from a stubborn, scrappy faith. I knew I had to try to translate this into music; hope I did it some justice. This song is the first of a series, God willing.
