Environmental activist and author Bill McKibben joins the program to discuss the recent flooding of Montpelier. Intense rainstorms have caused historic and catastrophic flooding in the Northeastern United States, particularly in Vermont. The state's capital, Montpelier, experienced record-breaking rainfall, surpassing levels seen during Tropical Storm Irene in 2011. Thousands of homes and businesses have been affected, and the downtown area remains flooded and unsafe for travel. A travel ban was issued, and a boil water notice is in place due to concerns about contaminated drinking water. Vermont is under a state of emergency, with ongoing rescue efforts and more rain expected in the coming days.
