🔵 🔵 -Preobrazhensky Cathedral, also known as the Transfiguration Cathedral, is a prominent religious landmark located in the picturesque city of Odesa, Ukraine. It was severely damaged by a Russian missile attack on Odesa on July 23, 2023. Until it was attacked, this majestic cathedral stood as a magnificent example of Neo-Byzantine architecture, boasting intricate detailing and awe-inspiring domes that grace the city's skyline. The cathedral's construction began in 1825 and was completed in 1837, making it one of the oldest and most historically significant buildings in Odesa. Its striking facade, adorned with ornate mosaics and richly decorated interiors, captivates both locals and visitors alike. The Spaso-Preobrazhensky Cathedral serves as a vital spiritual center for the Orthodox Christian community in the region, holding religious services, ceremonies, and events that perpetuate its cultural heritage.
