Dutch Hawaiian Is exactly what I presumed it was, a cross of Dutch Indica crossed with a lovely tropical sweet sativa. The Bud structure of Dutch Hawaiian Has a fairly elongated bud structure with a significant density for such a hefty sativa lean. Don't let that fool ya though, the sparse pistils and lack of super bright greens alongside that density can easily fool a person just going by appearance. The tricomes however have a nice sativa off white color and the buds are coated in stickiness.
The aroma of Dutch Hawaiian live Sugar is a lemony tropical amalgimation with hints of about every aroma you can think of to be honest. There's notes of gas and glue if you smell it a certain way but overall it's got a tropical sweetness centered in lemon aroma with accents of gassy and glue.
This strain produces an extremely non anxiety provoking heady experience that is great for headaches, focus during the day, loss of appetite, and having a smoke that won't knock you out. That last bit said, I do feel somewhat tired when the buzz wears away completely but not so much as some other sativas am that really have a downfall at the end. This is more definately a day time smoke.
The energy isn't so powerful that is provokes anxiety, it's actually a relatively calm alert sensation. It does hit with a pretty significant intensity that kicks in behind the eyes and in the head. The headiness may indeed lead to a dizzying spin, but it isn't a nauseating spin effect. Nit so much a spin more of a dizzy headiness that doesn't lead to nausea. It most certainly gets the munchies going into as well.
This will produce some heavy red eyes and squint eye effect and the buzz is certainly heady centered. There is a nice body vibration amd buzz but there isn't a sedating effect in any way. I may be a bit of an outlier here but I do experience a bit of sleepiness as the buzz totally wears off. The intensity of the high lasts for near the entirety of the buzz, only backing off slightly from those initial eye squinting inhales. It hits extremely smooth, it makes you think it might punch u in the chest at first inhale but exhaling it is fairly smooth. There is a bit of hit to chest when you exhale likely the bite of Beta Caryophyllene expressing itself.
Dutch Treat is a potent cross of Northern Lights x Haze. Northern Lights has its roots in Purest indica by Neville, an offshoot of The original Afghani Landrace. Northern Lights contributes a heavy 95/05 Indica Dominant Hybrid structure. It crosses Afghani With Thai Sativa. If I recall properly NL is a play on Afghani once removed from landrace, known as Purest Indica. This line was produced by Neville Shoemaker, also famous for contributing to Skunks Lineage, arguably lost today.
Northern Lights has quite an interesting history if one dog's into the history dating back a few decades. A west coast grower by the name Seattle Greg metstumbled into a Book written by one Murphy Steven's, a pseudonym for the author, Steve Murphy, who owned a hydroponics shop. GREG AT SOMEPOINT GAVE Steve 4 seeds which were called "Purest Indica". It is said these are once removed from the afghani Landrace Line.
There are 1-11 and the higher the number the more sativa genetics are bred into the blend. This explains the intensity of the anxiety provoking sativa isn't at all present, but there energy is. It brings out the alert heady note of the sativa and maintains it calm of Indica Origin. It is I no way Sedating or producing Couch Lock. iMO it does have a quite sleepy downturn.
Northern Lights No.5 is a cross of Hawiian Sativa with That Once Removed Purest Indica Afghani Landrace offshoot. NORTHERN LIGHTS LINE 1-11 were produced over several years of genetic breeding, about ten years of 3 to 4 crops per year. From this breeding we get the Northern Lights Line Up.
The higher the number the more sativa is introduced to the profile. No 5 crosses Hawiian Sativa With Afghnai Purest Indica which is quite near this Dutch Hawaiian Blend. NL No 5 crosses Hawiian Sativa With Afghani Purest Indica. The difference is in Dutch Treat being used. Dutch Treat Crosses Northern Lights x Haze. Then that is crossed with Hawaiian Sativa.

Haze is a cross of 4 strains. It is thoughT to be an amalgimation of Thai, Mexican, And South American Landraces with South Indian Strain. Haze is famous for being an excellent patent genetic to be used to create unique phenotypical expression with cranked up THC higher than both Parents contributing. This helps to figure up the extent to which that Dutch Hawiian Being reviewed here has such an intense sativa presence, even though the profile leans so heavily with indica leaning terpenes like linalool and humulene andnbeta caryophyllene dominance.
Having such strong indica Genetics, bred over the 10 years that Northern Lights was created pushes Afghani purity into its children genetics. Down the line 2 strains we have a sativa expression with indica calm, no couch lock or relaxation at all.
This is why I'm gonna go out on. A branch and say DutchHawaiian used Northern Lights No.5 which uses Hawiian Sativa. The higher numbered Northern Light Strains cross Mexican,Columbian, and south indian Landrace.

All of that Sativa really Does make sense as to why the DutchHawiian leans so heavily sativa while expressing its indica Presence through hunulene, linalool and that Beta Caryophyllene not common in sativa landrace. I find it interesting that an Indica bred so intensely as Northern Lights Contributes to this Amalgimation and maintains its indica presence in the profile at hand, Dutch Hawaiian.
I often discuss the strength with which sativa isnablento express through a profile. I often relate that to the fact that cannabis as an illicit product, sought potency and that came for years from sativa potency and pleasing notes being sussed out to blend with shorter flowering times and denser nuts of indica.
Knowing that the Northern Lights was so heavily bred with such Pure Afghani Genetics, I don't think this profile or a handful like it negates the entirety of my theory just yet. It is certainly something I need to keep my eye on. I often smoke indica and indica hybrid and only here and there grab sativa. But to further enhance my study and ability to accurately portray experience through profile I need to start studying sativa a bit more.

Terpologically we know this leans sativa with an oddity given those terpenes present from indica lineage as well as the CBGa found on its own. When CBGA is tested along side CBG at approximately 1/3 the cbga level, were looking at Indica expression. In addition the more complex the profile beyond CBG indicates sativa expression, usually beginning with CBDa CBD and Sometimes THCVA. THE VERY Heightened level of CBGa however, I want to keep note of as it tests very high at 3.68%, possibly lending to the lack of energetic anxiety missing from this heavy leaning sativa.

This is definately a day time smoke for the individual who has a hard time smoking during the day. Whatever your day time use habits, this one will go along. It is relaxing but not sedate in any way, has a calm energy about it and a very heady experience useful in treating migraines and minor depressive episodes. It has a happy uplifted high that no doubt is that South American Wacky weed making its laughy presence known.

I think it would be interesting to dig through the Northern Lights Line Ups and study the outcomes of the contributing genetics in other genetics to try to see if one could suss out exactly the number of Northern Lights contributing to DutchTreat, parent of Dutch Hawaiian. I believe it makes sense it would be Hawaiian sativa Crossed Purest Indica, the higher more potent sativa leans of Northern Lights use Mexican, South American And Thai sativa.

I give this one a deifnate 8 out of 10, though I never use a scale like that. Lol it has a nice smooth inhale that some say is better for smokers with inhale issues, maybe they can't hit heavier strains, but Idk I agree. Maybe the herb smokes a little easier than the exhale of this live Sugar bc it does have a bit of a punch to the chest after the exhale.

Very energetic but in no provokes anxiety and this is coming from someone prone to the 'sativa freak' as I SO humbly refer to it.
