Snorkelers on Little Cayman Island were delighted when a beautiful Hawksbill sea turtle appeared beside them and joined them for almost half an hour as they explored the reef. These critically endangered turtles are very rare and are usually shy. This one seemed curious about the swimmers, their camera and what they were up to. He seemed to enjoy the companionship as he drifted along and nibbled at the algae on the coral. He occasionally approached them so closely that it provided an excellent opportunity for some video footage so close that you can actually see the pupils in his eyes. Kristy and Dave traveled across the island on scooters to find this tiny, uninhabited beach. This experience made the journey well worth it!
