Keto is short for ketogenic, which is a low-carb, high-fat diet that puts your body into a state of ketosis. When you’re in ketosis, your body burns fat for fuel instead of glucose, which can lead to many benefits such as weight loss, lower blood sugar, better mental clarity, and more.
A keto meal plan consists of meals that have less than 20 grams of net carbs per day. Net carbs are the total carbs minus the fiber. You also want to get enough protein to maintain your muscle mass and keep you full, and enough healthy fats to support your hormones and brain function.
