Tourism Lethbridge will now be working hand-in-hand with Indigenous filmmakers in our region.

Two contracts have been signed to create short-form video projects and social media content that highlights Indigenous perspectives and experiences in the city.

The local filmmakers include Jared Wolf Child and Shawanda Backfat.

Thomas Miller, the digital content specialist with Tourism Lethbridge explained to us more about the initiative.

The two Indigenous filmmakers beat out 35 other applicants.

Both contracts have been funded through grants provided by Travel Alberta in support of strengthening the local visitor economy through destination development.
