Coconut-smashing ritual honours deity at Aadi Perukku Hindu festival

Hundreds of Hindu devotees gathered in Mettu Mahadanapuram to usher in the Aadi Perukku festival, which includes breaking coconuts over their heads as a symbolic ritual.
