USAF visits The Rock of Gibraltar
United States Air Force visits Gibraltar
I had the awesome opportunity to walk across the runway and check out this Boeing C-40C B737 while it is parked at Ministry of Defense at Gibraltar. I wonder who it brought here, and what their mission is at Gib.
Gibraltar and the United States have had very long standing relationships dating back to before WWI. WWII saw the relationship get much stronger as the US based its operations here for the re-taking of Northern Africa out of the the Axis Powers hands. Future President Dwight D. Eisenhower was based here and had an office deep inside of The Rock where enemies would not be able to penetrate.
