‘This is unlawful assembly’: Giveaway turns into riot in NYC Union Square

Police in New York City struggled to control a crowd of thousands, who gathered in Manhattan's Union Square for an Internet personality's videogame console giveaway that turned into a riot.

People climbed on vehicles, hurled chairs, threw punches and scaled structures. The NYPD did not immediately have information on injuries or arrests.
