Slapz is a potent indica leaning cross of Grease Monkey and Runtz. THIS parent lineage gives the yerpological read a very uniqie expression. The expression of the terpological profile lines up perfectly with the reported effect and my own discernment of effect of This strain.
Slapz has a very potent aroma dominated by Lemon freshness with a gassy undertone and a slightly woodsy undertone. The lemon is very much hiw limonene expresses in indica heavy profiles which I compare mote to lemon with the peel on and a branch attached with a leaf, vs a sativa expression is more potent and powerful like the peeled lemon. Limonene is the dominant terpene expressing in the terpene profile at 2.70%. This makes sense terpologically given thisnis an indica dominamt hybrid that has the sativa expression in the complexity of the cannabinoid profile and only appearing in the terpenes as that dominance in limonene.
While limonene is typically associated with indica and the effects correlated thereto in the enterprise effect, it is terpologically paired to sativa. I refer to limonebe as the terpological bridge terpene. When sativa is only able to just barely express its dominance of lineage it does so most often by enhancing that common terpene between them, limonene.
Myrcene is prominent just under the limomeme at 2.67% which makes sense. When myrcene isnpaired with Trans caryophyllene, the most common form of beta caryophyllene it tends to more easily express itself as proliferative of THC across the blood Brain barrier, a characteristic of myecene in sativa as Beta caryophyllene is most often associated with indica profile. When myrcene is paired with Beta caryophyllene and isn't 3 to 5 x the potency it acts to intensify the potency of sedation of the immediate kick of the beta caryophyllene.
Trans caryophyllene then tests at 1.95%, telling us of the possibility that indica expression here though obviously dominant maybe impacted significantly by sativa lineages. The effects reported by users overall fall in line with this terpological discernment. Slapz is reported to have a heady sometimes dizzying sativa effect slightly alert nit energizing. And has a very relaxing indica body effect, not tiring until you really come down from the buzz. Trans caryophyllene tends to have a less immediate impact of sedation and often works with the creeper effect or lines up its sedative properties with the come down. Of the THC potency leading to a sedating experience to end.
Linalool testing just under the Trans caryophyllene at 1.13% reassures us that this indeed is indica dominant hybrid. We want to see those earthy musky sour pungent terpenes at levels near the usual giveaway of beta caryophyllene, whatever form it appears in. This along with the humulene level indicates the strength of indica expression as well. The Favt that humulene doesn't test in at primary level lends to the terpological discernment. It speaks to that less intense indica effect of the 60/40 lean, it isn't immediately sedating like an indica hybrid high in beta caryophyllene. Alpha Humulene tests in at 0.56% at the upper level of the secondary terpene tier.
Both pinenes fall into this secondary category just under humulene. Alpha Pinene tests at 0.27% and Beta pinene at 0.35%. This ratio really does speak to the manner of experiential expression of Slapz. The heavier sativa experiential impact of this Indica domiannt hybrid is expressed in that lack of variance between alpha and Beta pinene that better more closely represents the 60/40 ratio of the lean.
However, it still does fall within the range if representing 60/40 hybrid, but that lack of spread is notable relative to the sativa expression of Slapz in its Indica Dom 60/40 split. .27 + .35 = .62. 30 of 60 is half, 35 is a bit over, also have to remember that the ratio of incia to sativa typically is typically slightly more than the ratio represented in the pinenes. However, in this example, that .35 of .62 and .27 of .62 represent a good spread of how sativa, alpha pinene impacts vs the indica ... beta pinene.
Alpha Terpineol is a uniqie secondary level at 0.29%. FENCHOL, a precursor of Menthol is at 0.52%. Camphene and Borneol are the tertiary levels at 0.09% & 0.08% respectively. The Fenchol and Borneol no doubt lend the fresh notes that I noted in the aroma of the sugar, the linalool and Trans caryophyllene likely add to that fresh tweak on the limonene expression.
The cannabinoids in this profile are most certainly telling ofnthebsativa impact on yhe experiential profile. The xomllexity of the cannabinoid profile is what is the intial giveaway of indica or sativa lineage. BUt just because it is complex in expression doesn't mean it's absolutely sativa, just that sativa is heavily expressed in the profile. One can suss out the extent of sativa vs indica contribution expressing experientially in the individual cannabinoids. CBN is a sleepy cannabinoid, relative to couch locking relaxing indica. THCVA is relative to sativa, found rarely in cannabis overall often found in Durban Poison landrace. These are just two examples of further breaking down that complexity of cannabinoids to better understand how it impacts the experience. Durbam Poison is one sativa that expresses heavily in THCVA, and along side Mexican sativa, Hawaiian sativa, and some unknown contribute to the possible origins of the THCVa presence.
CBNa is only testing at 0.12%. CBN is relative to indica terpologically as CBN is a sleepy time and and Indica is Sleepy time, not sativa. CBCa is the remaining cannabinoid left at 0.49%. I plan to start focusing more on the CBC, CBD and others in terpological application to understand hownthey play into this more so, to better understand their presence and impact terpologically.
The inhale of Slapz has a Gassy Slightly lemon Chemy taste and a very plain woodsy exhale flavor, sometimes having a gas undertone on the exhale as well. The hold of this hit will fight its way back out but doesn't quite force me to cough or exhale with harsh difficulty, it's a nice smooth exhale despite that seeming attempt to be a chest punch. However it does have a very spicey nip in the chest and throat as an aftertaste.
There isn't any real preference in the onset of the buzz as to sativa headiness or indica relaxation, the potency of the THC blends the body buzz and the heady lift very nicely. This is definately a good strong hard hitting weed for daytime use. Though it may hit the novice usernwith that dizzying effect that is noted by experienced users, which can cause nausea in some people, myself being one of those people. I do not prefer sativa dominance for that reason ampung others, but this is only really an issie with this level myrcene and THC dominance for the novice user in my educated opinion. Myrcene potency along Trans Caryophyllene rather than Beta lends tonthe sativa expression of the experience. When myrcene is amplified to a level between 3 and 5 times even beta caryophyllene in that form the strain can have a much more intense heady effect than myrcene levels past that or lower than 3 x the bcp level. Myrcene is one terpene that is usually thought of by users as a sedating terpene, but that sedation is relative to beta caryophyllene and myrcenes intensification there of.
I will dig into the exact genetics soon, I need to really study the genetic tree for a few hours becsuse it is quite complex being Grease Monkey x Runtz.

THCa is 79.01% and delta 9 is at 1.93%. This part is also telling as sativas are, as per scientific consensus of today unlike the rest of my terpological protocol is relative to THC expression. The higher levels of delta 9 is what stands out the most. The level of THCa at 79.01% is relatively normal for a live concentrate terpologically.
CBDa is in at 0.17%. THCVA is at 0.29%. That lower level of CBDa speaks to the same thing in my reading that the lower level of CBG speaks to, which is one way sativa impacts an indica profile. Sativa can push through its own dominant terpene and cannabinoids or it can diminish the indica expression. 0.68% CBGa in a live concentrate is about 1/3of the expected usual approximately 1.50% CBGa. The ratio of CBG to CBGA is always approximately 1/3 cbg of the cbga, and here that holds true with CBG at 0.27%.
