Began with a brief commentary on "The Great (or Not-So-Great) Debate" over Flat Earth, where I explained that, while it's logically possibly to hold a belief as true as long as you are willing to make sufficiently drastic changes in other beliefs, accepting Flat Earth requires rejecting the sciences of physics and astronomy. Notice when I asked the elementary question, What are the dimensions of Flat Earth?, it was treated as though it were an unfair question. And how is Flat Earth supported in space? There's an old saw about it being on the back of an elephant. Then, when asked, "What supports the elephant?" and the answer comes back that it's on the back of a turtle--and then, when the inevitable question comes about the turtle, the answer becomes "It's turtles all the way down!" reflects another problem for the cause. We then turned to New York City in crisis, where plans are now in the works to house illegal migrants in Central Park, which is going to all-but-destroy the city. I asked John, too, about the death of the Obama's chef on Martha's Vineyard, which I believe was a case of (probably) accidental killing but which is being covered up like mad by local and state authorities (where Michelle made the 911 call and Barack was on the paddleboard with Tafari (but who was already dead). This one ain't going away. We talked about the role of the Secret Service in a case like this. Then I added that one of the witnesses against Bret Kavanaugh has admitted that she lied before Congress, that she had never been raped and that she had never even met the man. During the final segment, Johnny called in to defend Flat Earth Theory on the basis of the Bible, which is an alternative those of us who are not Christian (who are atheists or agnostics, for example), do not enjoy. No doubt debate will continue to rage over a question some of us had believed had been long since resolved by research in astronomy and physics.
