Where does Jason Rank among Summer Camp Slashers?

The #FridayThe13th franchise has enjoyed nearly 45 years of fanfare and in my, not so humble opinion represents the definitive Slasher. That ain't a compliment considering the state of the masked maniac genre. However, with other Scary Summer Camp films, even from the same decade, your Horror Host Inkarnate thought to direct the Mind's Eye onto this corner of Horror and take a deeper dive lakeside to evaluate if there are other, more deserving films worthy of the limelight. The two that stand out are #SleepawayCamp and #TheBurning. I hope you'll find my insights as sobering as they are enlightening as I shed a rather uncomfortable light on the legacy of one Jason Voorhees. Now I realize that the Campground rules read "No logic by the lake", but I do ask, Friday Fans, keep an open mind.
