Discotek is Releasing "Digimon the Movies" and Digimon Adventure 02 on Blu-ray!

Here are my thoughts on Discotek's recent announcement about Digimon Adventure 02 and "Digimon the Movies" receiving blu-ray releases outside of Japan for the first time ever. Digimon Adventure 02 is going to be handled the same way that the blu-ray release of Digimon Adventure was handled late last year. However, "Digimon the Movies" is a compilation of technically four Digimon movies, three of which have never been properly dubbed or released outside of Japan. There is the classic Digimon movie from 2000 that we all know and love and then the three OVAs that comprise that movie, Digimon Adventure (the OVA, not the anime series), Digimon: Our War Game!, and Digimon Adventure 02: Digimon Hurricane Touchdown!! / Transcendent Evolution!! The Golden Digimentals (what a title, I know). Discotek was able to bring back all of the original voice actors who were willing to reprise their roles and I thought that they did an excellent job at recasting the voice actors who had sadly passed away in recent years, particularly Bryce Papenbook taking over the role of Red Greymon, who had previously been voiced by his father, Bob.
