China: More Than Million Displaced In Wake Of Doksuri Floods
Over a million people in China's Hebei province have been displaced from their homes in the aftermath of a deadly storm that hit earlier this week, with state media reporting the extent of the devastation.
As officials caution that it could take up to a month for the waters to recede in certain areas, the region, with a population of 75 million, continues to grapple with the aftermath of the torrential rain caused by the remnants of Typhoon Doksuri, which triggered heavy flooding, stranded residents, and claimed at least 22 lives, impacting neighboring cities of Beijing and Tianjin.
