This is Windmills Of The Gods - a TV Mini Series from 1988, based on the 1987 Sidney Sheldon novel.
Although originally aired in two parts, I have cut each part in half, so that each runs for around 45 minutes.
Stars Jaclyn Smith and Robert Wagner in a tale based in different countries - taking in the White House, the seedy streets of Paris and Cold War Romania, as a young woman ambassador faces unseen and powerful enemies plotting her and her children's demise.

Looks a little dated, but I found it very enjoyable.
