The term baladewan comes from the word bala and god. Bala can mean friend, kawean/friend. Dewa means YME's magical power. So it means that Baladewan has a goal to always receive the protection of God Almighty, and to give thanks after completing his task of holding a performance. A choreographer from Banyumas, Supriyadi changed a form of dance that was lifted from the last round of lenggeran art, namely Baladewan. This dance describes the character of the Banyumas people who are cablaka. There are also those who interpret that this dance depicts a wayang character, namely King Baladewa, so that it is embodied in the son of dashing dance.
