Read Across America Day is a celebration that takes place on March 2nd, which is Dr.Seuss's birthday! Many school's, libraries and communities participate on this day enjoying the time they can to read together! Children of HSMO's Shelter Buddies Reading Program and students from Ralph M. Captain Elementary School celebrated Read Across America Day in an amazing way.

They read their favourite Dr. Seuss Books to shelter pets at the Humane Society of Missouri. How precious is this? The animals must love listening to these adorable kids telling them their favourite stories! They have some super cool hats, so cute! They are such good readers! What a great way to spend the day, it doesn't get much more cute than this! These kids get to practise their reading skills while making the animals' day more exciting! Win win situation!

Over 900 kids have joined the Shelter Buddies Reading Program, which also gives them a chance to form positive and respectful relationships with animals. If you would like to check out some of the beautiful animals from the Humane Society of Missouri, please check out their facebook page.
