What is the second purpose in marketing? In order to figure that out, we have to go back to the first purpose of marketing, which is getting someone to listen in order to do this you have to build an identity for yourself. This all really depends on if you are doing it correctly if you are doing it right, having consistency, and are putting out constant information.

The second purpose in marketing is to diffuse or remove the tension between you and a potential prospect, yes that is it the second purpose of marketing is to diffuse the tension that exists between you and someone that may be apprehensive of buying. Maybe this person had a bad experience or is really trying to find out a correct experience, and your job is then to diffuse the situation that can exist between two parties so you can have a conversation.

You don't want to have this tension mixed in with a potential sale with a prospect, you want the conversation or experience to be something you both enjoy, you don't want to add fire to an existing fire.

The second purpose of marketing is to use your content, your advertising, your budget, your time, and your energy to diffuse the tension.
