....Weekly Garden Update....03/08/23

....this week we start where the new veg bed will be next year, mowed mulched and covered until we've got time to dig it over....then around to the brassica cage, with beetroot, leeks, kale and sprouts all doing quite well....then through to the new barbeque by the outside dining area....in the main veg bed, there is parsnips, leeks, onions and some lettuce, and in front we have still got some spuds in bags that are ready for cropping....then round the back where the chard and tree spinach have gone wild....in the greenhouse there are peppers that are fruiting nicely and the chilli plant is really doing well too....outside, the gherkins are nearly finished (we've got loads of jars of pickled gherkins now), carrots still coming along and the last of the pickling onions are nearly ready too....in the little greenhouse the tomatoes are finally ripening (very happy about this), and some outside are nearly ready too....then up the hill to the main crop of potatoes in bags next to the art studio....and finally the extension to the veg bed that we are going to dig over once I've finished clearing the ground....it was quite a rainy July really but the crops have really done well so I'm quite pleased really....that's all for this week....
