Austin Proulx is an IDPA National champion competitive shooter and a young gun instructor on the rise. Austin explains the personal technique he has developed over the years to properly grip a 1911. He has switched to shooting 9mm to take advantage of the double-stack magazines. While it is slightly unconventional, there is some real physics and friction behind his technique. It helps him shoot faster and more accurately. His demonstration piece is the Wilson CombatSFT9 with a light rail.
