Share. Subscribe. There are 4 Firmaments. These Firmaments are there for specific purposes. The first (the Mark Sargent Firmament) is 70-75 miles up over the USA. The second (the Sun-Moon Firmament) is 2,000 miles up in general. The Sun is 1,651.29 miles above at the equator. The third is 7,000 miles up or so since Polaris " the central north star " is 6,589 miles above. The fourth is 175K-200K miles away and encloses the farthest stars.
