Is a new Nintendo Console coming out in 2024? Several sources, including Video Games Cornicle (VGC) . and IGN have articles for us breaking down a report that the next console could be in Q4 of 2024 ( October - December). In addition to that, development kits for the upcoming Nintendo console have already been set out to certain key development partners ahead of the supposed launch of this new console. They also break down sales numbers and how Nintendo sales of the hardware and games have gone down by about 16%.

Yuuki's Take: This Q4 2023, Nintendo is releasing at least 2 big games, including Super Mario Bros. Wonder, and the remake of Super Mario RPG. Christmas sales have to at least match last years sales numbers. In addition, the article talked about digital libraries, the Nintendo Accounts, and backwards compatibility. These things are extremely important as we saw the Wii U shop close as well as the 3DS shop close and all those games are gone with no way to play them (except if emulated). Nintendo Account transition is a big one to make it smoother, and the major one for me is Backwards Compatibility. If we can play Switch 1 games on the Switch 2, it would make for a strong start in my opinion.
