Does a follower of Christ still have a “sin nature”? Victorious Faith convo w/ Karen & Sylvia #28

Many professing believers use Paul’s verses in Romans 7:13-25 to justify that we must continue to “wrestle with sin” but fail to read these verses in context and don’t make the connection that Paul was describing his inability to overcome sin when he was still unredeemed and “under the law”. The glorious truth of the gospel (good news!) is that Jesus Christ completely freed us from the “law of sin and death” (Romans 8:2). In Christ, we are completely new and free from our old life of sin (2 Cor. 5:17-21). We now have a choice - to either gratify the flesh, or live in accordance with the Spirit in the resurrection life of Jesus Christ. The old man and his “sin nature” has been nailed to the tree with Christ. Hallelujah! Romans 6:5-7; 8:2; 9:31; Colossians 1:13; John 8:32; Galatians 2:20; 3:13-14; Galatians 5:16-25.
