Harnwell: Lindsey Graham Threatens Russia — “A Nuclear Attack On Ukraine Is An Attack On NATO”

Membership of NATO does not actually *require* a military response from other allies should any member be attacked.

The NATO Charter only commits a member to: “…assist the Party or Parties so attacked by taking…such action as it deems necessary, including the use of armed force…” — the famous Article 5.

It’s perfectly clear. A military response is not obligatory, but it is permitted via the Treaty and therefore international law.

We’re never going to nuke Russia over Ukraine — but idiots like Sen Graham might get Ukraine nuked by Russia.
