I gave my brother a 7 gallon tote with castings in it. There were also small worms, wisps, and cocoons. I explained to push the castings to one side of the bin, and add paper bedding to the other side a place small piece of banana peel in the paper. Check it every 2 weeks as he continued to use the castings add more paper and small amounts of food scraps every few weeks. In April of 2023 I visited him and upgraded the bin from the 7 gallon tote to a 14 gallon tote, here is the video: Upgrading a small worm bin

Here is the feeding for this worm bin, I added a partial frozen ball of food scraps for the worms and added a small handful of sand from his yard for the worms to use as grit across the whole bin.
