FFSplit - How I Record PC Games & Other PC Stuff (Read the Description!)

Note that this isn't a video to get technical help on, this is to show the way I recommend setting up FFSplit if it's working to begin with. Check their forums:

and/or contact them for technical help:

I went "old-skool" in the recording of this video like I did with my Camstudio video by pointing a camera at the screen because I can't record with FFSplit if I'm showing how to set up FFSplit. It's kind of like how doctors can't perform open heart surgery on themselves. :P So just think of this as a blast to the past!

Obviously this video only scratches the surface of FFSplit since there is a flurry of different settings. In fact, this video's length would likely be tripled if I went over everything the program could do. So I focused only on the essentials of recording here. Feel free to explore it on your own!

Also, I bet you weren't expecting that I used GIMP for this too! ;D Yeah, I use GIMP for a ton of things nowadays and I couldn't go without it.

Get FFSplit for free here:

Don't forget about GIMP 2.8 which is free too:
http://www.gimp.org

The version I use is GIMP 2.8.10 because the later versions aren't working as well for me. If they don't for you too, feel free to get an archived 2.8.10 here:

... or an even older one here:
