Pokemon Card GB 2 Part 81: The Meta

This sort of deck was pretty typical in the Rocket era and topped often. With The Rocket's Trap instead of Lass or Rocket's Sneak Attack, I put my own spin on it.

Is it the best build with this particular card set? Ehhhh, hard to say. I mean every deck has it's weakness, can brick, etc... and there are a lot or probabilities to weigh. Especially since this particular format is technically unique to the video game and there's no documentation I know of evaluating the entire thing like there is the physical game in all regions. For instance, Poltergeist-Haunter could really benefit from all the trainer cards Hay Fever accumulates in the opponent's hand. But is it better than Snorlax as an attacker? Hard to say since it has Thick Skin. You could use them both, but that takes up more deck space and you need a lot of draw power to get this strategy going. Also, if it encounters Toxic Gas-Muk to stop Dark Vileplume, which was also a pretty common counter, things could be ruined in this build without more outs as without the lock, this deck sort of crumbles longterm. Maybe Fetch-Kangaskhan instead of Dark Golduck, actual-Psychic Pokemon like Psyburn-Mewtwo for Energy Absorption to sweep Poison-Grass critters and combine with a few Gust of Wind, etc... But that too takes up deck space. SO much to take into account. Heck, even this deck can run Invisible Wall-Mr. Mime so that's something to consider too. But this should give you a taste of the lockdown deck style.
