Nintendo Now Repairing Joy-Con Analog Sticks Outside of Warranty Free (Read the description too)

As an update to the video I made on how to possibly fix Joy-Con drift yourself (Link: https://www.youtube.com/edit?o=U&video_id=xWejLAKWgLk ), it appears as if Nintendo has recently decided to fix any Joy-Cons that have analog stick drift even if they are out of warranty. It may or may not be in response to a class action lawsuit filed on them regarding the analog sticks. Who knows. Regardless of why, at least there's a positive outcome to this!

I did wonder why it's happening to begin with out of curiosity to see if maybe it's preventable. So I did research and theories varied. Electrical, graphite contacts wearing down from sliding metal parts, dust, gunk, etc... Who knows. Could be any or all depending on the stick. Something tells me Nintendo is going to redesign the analog sticks in the future though. But here are the links:
