There are loads of these Power Meter Plugs available, they all look the same, but you need to check just what they do before buying one. They all offer different functions with different data combinations shown on the screen, which may or may not be backlit. Make sure the device you select measures the data you are interested in and shows it on the main screen so you don't have to flip from screen to screen to see what is going on.

This one seemed pretty good to me, it has plenty of useful functions, screen backlighting and the price was good at just £8.90. In the box you get the power meter itself and a reasonably easy to read User Guide.

This model shows eight different data set screens. Press the Mode button to scroll through the screens. The screens will show combinations of power (w), energy (kWh), electricity cost, current (A), voltage (V), frequency (Hz), Maximum power, and Minimum power, in real time and cumulative useage. In the Settings panel you can input the unit cost for electricity, Power Overload and KwH alarm values, keypress sound on/off, as well as clear data and reset functions. You can also determine how long the screen backlighting stays on. Most users will not be interested in or need to use all the screens on offer. The plug has a memory function and remembers the power and other settings and usage when switched off.

Build quality seems fine, the plug is well made and robust. Setting it up fully can take some time, but you don't need to use all the options available and once done the plug will remember the settings.

If you need to monitor the power usage of a particular device then this plug should be all you need.
