It's the battle of the roos in Australia and our two contenders are Dave, in the east corner, who has been wandering the streets and scaring dogs and people alike, and over here we have Roger.

Roger is almost as tall as Dave, 6 feet 6 inches tall and only 9 years old. He lives at The Kangaroo Sanctuary Alice Springs in the Northern Territory and likes to show off his muscles while staring menacingly at the camera.

Unlike the wanderer Dave, Roger is trained in hand-to-hand-combat and with one swift kick he can disembowel his opponent, according to the manager of the sanctuary, Chris Barnes. His daily regime also includes sparring and running after Chris. In case you couldn't tell, Roger is the alpha and very protective of his females, able to get very aggressive of anyone who tries to approach them.

Roger might not be a match for the gray wanderer of the east, but Chris says that he expects Roger to grow even bigger, since he was just a tiny joey when he first arrived at the sanctuary. Red kangaroos like Roger are expected to live from 12 to 15 years old and usually grow larger than eastern grays which live up to six years in the wild and and 20 years in captivity.
