Here is a quick cheap simple air-conditioning tip that can save homeowners a lot of money. Whenever you change your air conditioning filter make it a habit to always add some drain cleaner to your air conditioner drain.
You can buy noncorrosive air-conditioning drain cleaner, but you can also make a simple do-it-yourself drain cleaner from vinegar or diluted bleach solution and then rinse off with water when you're done. If you're careful and use some tubing and a funnel you can be sure to get it all down the drain without getting any on the metal parts of your condenser.
In the video. I also go over the importance of using a water alarm. They are very inexpensive and will immediately alert you if you have any leaks from your air conditioner. I recommend you give them to your upstairs neighbor.
If your air conditioner drain is clogged up. You can purchase inexpensive plastic strips to snake down your pipes and tubing but you can also make them out of strapping tape.
